Mikey was a "goober" dog to the very end. Rest well my best friend, and go run and play with your dear friend, Gracie who passed away just one month ago. You helped me make it through her death, and held on until our new baby Amelia came into our lives. THANK YOU!!! You were a very good boy. The Lord giveth and the Lord taketh away. Blessed be the name of the Lord. Mary Ann Bruton Celebrate Golden Retrievers Luvmygoldn@aol.com

This is 'Patches', owned and loved by Sharon Yon. We lost her in December, 2007 to renal failure. Sharon says that this 'little girl went through hell and back for me. I sure miss her. Just thought it would be nice to have her on our page.'
Max Von Haven of So. Shore (owned and loved by Millie Wiltbank) On May 13, 2008 Max passed over the Rainbow. Max came into my life at 7 weeks of age and I started training him at 10 weeks with Kevin Healy of the OC K- 9 Unit. Max was so smart that I wanted to do more training with him and at the age of 7 month Max and I enrolled in our first Beginners Obedience Class with Peggy Bradford. This is when I became hooked on training so I joined the SMKC. Max went onto receiving his CGC title on 07/12/99. We then went into Diane Spalding’s Novice Ringwork Class but as Max matured he became more and more protective of me. Max had a built and air about him that everyone when they saw him became afraid of him at first sight so while attending our classes all of the other students would stand far away from us. I can remember Diane taking Max from me and deliberately try to force Max to show aggression towards her; which he never did nor would. Diane wanted to show the rest of the students that Max was “NOT” aggressive but was bred for protection and he was just doing his job and that job was to protect me. After a few classes I felt that Max would be better off becoming a couch potato. Which he took to this job very well. Max became my husbands’ sidekick. I still have tears whenever I think of Max. Max will always be in my heart and soul forever. We will miss this big hearted family member forever; Millie, Bud, Blue, Waide and Stormy.

stride at lunchtime, but had an ‘episode’ of some sort this afternoon, quite possibly a stroke. Pat rushed her to the vet, who thought we might be able to pull her through here at home with meds, but it was not to be. She passed on in his arms right here at home. She was a very special girl who loved other dogs, people, and cats. She was an extreme ‘homebody,’ never preferring to leave unless she was in the presence of her family, except when she & Milo toured the neighborhood as canine ambassadors. You’ve probably all seen the attached photo that we used as our ‘Peace On Earth’ holiday greeting: Tess and her cat, McCloud. Now, Tess is in perfect peace with all of God’s creatures in his Peaceable Kingdom of Heaven.
