The Canine Ambassadors (CA) of the Salisbury Maryland Kennel Club is a group of
members and friends that gather together with their canine counterparts to make
appearances at various public events. The goal of CA is to educate the children and other
members of our community about the benefits of owning a purebred dog. Since education is
the main goal of the Canine Ambassadors, we try to first provide non-dog owners with
enough information to begin the selection process when they decide on a dog of their own.
We also target specific groups of dog owners with our appearances -  pet owners, dog
sport enthusiasts, and prospective breeders.

Some of the issues of importance that need to be addressed with children and their
parents are the physical and emotional maintenance required by a purebred pet. We also try
to encourage pet owners to experience how happy and well adjusted a dog can become with
the challenge of regular training.

The dog owners with an interest in entering competition of any variety are exposed to all
resources available at Salisbury Maryland Kennel Club thru CA. Literature describing the
obedience, agility, and handling classes offered at our training center are always on hand.

Prospective breeders are offered insight from experienced breeders. Issues such as
health screening and spay/neuter agreements can be discussed.

And all dog owners, regardless of their ambitions, can gain a wealth of knowledge from CA
on nutrition, coat care, illness prevention, and general canine hygiene.

If you'd like to volunteer your time, please contact our Canine Ambassador Chairman at
